I have been attending St. Andrew's since 1990. I have served at the Altar as a chalice bearer, was church ministry scheduler for several years, am on the Altar Guild, a member of the Music team and am the facilitator of our Helping Hands Suppers Ministry feeding the homeless and less fortunate. I grew up in the Jewish religion, attended a Pentecostal church but truly accepted Christ and began worshiping at Maranatha Evangelical Christian Church of Orange County where I learned about and gained a deep rooted love of Christ. When I met and married my husband, Clarence I came to St. Andrew's and fell in love with the Episcopal church, its practices and people. Also, I love speaking to people and enjoy being a lector, reading the teachings during our Sunday services.
I was born in Trenton, Michigan but as my father was a Navy man was moved to Anaheim, California when I was just 5 years old. My family lived in New Jersey for 2 years and returned to Anaheim when my father retired from the Navy. I identify myself as a San Diego resident since the majority of my adult life has been in San Diego cities.
I have been involved in many planning and support opportunities for St. Andrew's events over the years. I am married to Clarence Woods and love my 2 grown children, their spouses and my 3 grandchildren. I love St. Andrew's and it's people, love our "come as you are" attitude and have a huge love for music and how it can stir feelings deep in my soul and the souls of the people who hear the music and words being sung. I love music so much that I have participated in San Diego Summer choral festivals and am currently in the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus learning more about music and what it can give to me and to all who hear it.
I look forward to finding a rector who loves the church, shows their love of Christ through their sermons and how they treat both our congregation and our community with a focus on leading us to a deeper walk in our journeys with Christ and his teachings.
