Tell out our soul

annual pledge campaign

Every year, we make a financial plan and ask you, our St. Andrew's members, to make a commitment to contribute. Our pledges fund our commitment to serving our neighbors, building relationships throughout PB, and being God's hands and feet in this part of the world. Thank you for your generosity, a tangible sign of gratitude for all God has given us.

About Our Stewardship Theme

Tell Out Our Soul

Our theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is Tell Out Our Soul.

As Christians we are story tellers. We have an ancient narrative, one that describes the beginning of time and the relationship between God and God's Creation. We see this story grow through the prophetic tradition until our story recounts the life and gifts of the Son of God. But the story doesn't end with the Resurrection just as it did not end with the Cross, it continues on in each of us today as we encounter and are transformed by the Good News.

Luke's Gospel is bookended by the animated story-telling of two women named Mary. Early in the Gospel, Mary the mother of Jesus, tells us of her encounter with the Divine who informs her that she will bear a child who will change the world. She proclaims her joy: "Tell out my soul! The Greatness of the Lord!"

At the end of the Gospel, another Mary, Mary Magdalene, visits the tomb to discover it empty and receives instructions from the Risen Christ to go tell the others. She carries this Good News with jubilance to the Disciples.

What is your Good News; the idea, dream, challenge placed in your heart by God, that needs to be shared? What is the ministry to which you are called which will change the world, sharing your talents, gifts, and love with your neighbors?

Our Stewardship Campaign this year focuses on these stories - the ones inside you, the ones you are still writing, the ones we tell about those who have gone before us. We are all a part of this ongoing narrative - the ongoing Creation. Hear the stories that we share weekly throughout the campaign that relate the creative spark in us with the ways in which we are called to serve God and love our neighbor.

As we reflect on and appreciate all we as a community have created in this space, making a pledge is one way to show gratitude for where we’ve been and commit to continuing the good work in this place.

Making a pledge for 2026 is like speaking a reminder over our St. Andrew’s community - that while things are changing, we are and always will be a transformative community of people living this life of faith together.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider making a financial commitment to St. Andrew’s in 2026. If you have made a pledge before, please consider increasing your pledge if possible so that we can keep our vibrant ministries thriving in this upcoming transition. Our goal is to raise $200,000 in pledges for 2026 - can you join us? Please return the enclosed card, pledge online, or bring the card to church by December 1st.

frequently asked questions

Secondary Title

WHAT IS A PLEDGE?

A pledge is simply an estimate of what you expect to give to the church to support its mission and ministry in the year to come. This enables us to plan our budget and make careful, purposeful decisions. On a personal level, pledging helps transform your giving into a spiritual practice, because it becomes something you do regularly like worship or prayer. By transforming our giving in a commitment, we reinforce for ourselves that God is a priority in our life.

WHAT DOES THE CHURCH'S OPERATING BUDGET SUPPORT?

The operating budget of the church supports our mission and ministry including pastoral care, worship and liturgy, administration and Christian formation.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLEDGE? WHAT IS A TITHE?

The tithe is best understood in the context of giving from our ‘first fruits,’ which is to give our income—first in, first out—rather than from what’s left over. One standard that Christians have used for giving from your ‘first fruits’ is the tithe—giving 10% of our income right off the top. If you don’t feel ready for that level of giving, start with a 5% modern tithe or proportional giving and work toward increasing it each year with a spirit of gratitude.

HOW DO I MAKE A PLEDGE?

There are two ways to pledge. 1) Fill out the paper form we mailed to you and mail it back to us. 2) Pledge online here

HOW DO I PAY MY PLEDGE?

You may pay your pledge at the frequency of your choice (weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually) by check, credit card, appreciated securities or tax-free IRA distributions if you meet certain age requirements.

DOES MY PLEDGE REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Yes! St. Andrew's relies almost entirely on your contribution to support our mission and ministries. Our church family relies on all of us playing a role. EVERY pledge counts and has a huge impact on the work we can accomplish together. Thank you for your generosity.

WHAT IF I CAN'T PAY MY PLEDGE?

If the state of your finances change during the year, and you are unable to meet your pledge, please know that we are truly grateful for your intention of support. We understand that things change, and we are here for you. Please let us know how much of your pledge you are able to fulfill by contacting the priest, so that we can adjust our records accordingly. Please know that all conversations are confidential and pastoral support is available if needed.

WHAT IF I PUT MONEY IN THE OFFERING PLATE? DOES THAT TAKE THE PLACE OF A PLEDGE?

Putting money in the offering plate at weekly services is a good spiritual discipline that does not take the place of a pledge. Plate offerings are contributions that we are unable to financially plan for in support of our mission and budget. During special weekend services throughout the year, plate offerings support outside ministry efforts.
